# Create a post

The feed is the home page of your community. To write a post, click the **Write post title here…** box at the top. It opens the full post editor.

## Write your post

1. Type a **title**.
2. Type your text in the **description** box. You can use `@` to mention a member — they get a notification.
3. Add extras with the buttons at the bottom (see below).
4. Choose who can see it.
5. Click **Post**.

Both the title and the description are required.

## Add photos, videos and files

| Button | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| 📎 **Upload File** | Attach images, videos or documents from your computer. Members can open them in a full-screen viewer. |
| 🎬 **Embed Video** | Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link. The video plays right inside the post. |
| 📊 **Add Poll** | Add a poll so members can vote. See [Create a poll](https://truecommunitypro.com/docs/create-a-poll/). |

**Good to know:** Your site admin sets the biggest file size and how many files you can attach at once.

## Choose who can see it

Click the visibility menu (it says **Public** by default):

| Option | Who sees the post |
| --- | --- |
| **Public** | Every member of the community |
| **Friends** | Only your friends |
| **Only Me** | Only you — handy for drafts or private notes |

## Turn comments on or off

Untick **Allow Comments** if you do not want replies on this post.

## Preview before posting

Click **Preview** to see exactly how the post will look on the feed.

**Tip:** Inside a group, the post box at the top of the group posts to that group only. Only group members see it.
