# Sell a course

**Pro feature:** This page needs TrueCommunity Pro.

You can sell access to a course with **WooCommerce** or **Easy Digital Downloads (EDD)**. When someone buys the linked product, they are enrolled in the course right away.

## Before you start

1. Install and activate **WooCommerce** or **Easy Digital Downloads**.
2. Create a product for the course in that store, set its price and **publish** it.
3. Set the course **Enrollment Type** to **Private** (click **Edit Course**).

**Important:** Only a **private** course can be sold. An open course lets anyone in for free, and a locked course is never shown in the course list for someone to buy.

## Link the course to the product

1. Open the course and click **Settings**.
2. Under **Does this course cost money**, choose **Paid — bought once, then joined**.
3. If both stores are active, choose which one in **Sell it through**.
4. In **Store product**, search by product name, SKU or ID and pick your product.
5. Click **Save Settings**.

## What buyers see

The course shows a **Buy** button with the price, for example "Buy — $49". If the product is on sale, the old price is shown too. After checkout, the buyer is enrolled and can start learning.

If the course uses **Access ends after some days** (see [Course settings](https://truecommunitypro.com/docs/course-settings/)) and a student's access runs out, they see **Renew access** and can buy again.

**Tip:** Students who already sent a join request see "Buying the course gets you in right away" — buying skips the waiting.
