Do my members need a separate account? #
No. TrueCommunity uses your normal WordPress users. Anyone who can log in to your site is a member.
How do people sign up? #
The same way they sign up for your WordPress site — your registration page, a membership plugin, a store checkout, or you add them in Users → Add New.
Can I make the community private? #
Yes. Use private and locked groups for member-only spaces, and private or locked courses. See Groups explained.
Can I turn off features I don’t need? #
Yes, in TrueCommunity → Modules. See Modules.
Does it work with my theme? #
Yes. The community uses its own layout on its own pages, so it looks the same with any theme. Your theme still controls the rest of your site.
Does it work on multisite? #
Yes. Activate it on each site that needs a community. Network activation is not supported.
Who can create groups and courses? #
Site administrators. They can then make other people group admins, moderators or course instructors.
Is my data stored on your servers? #
No. Everything is stored in your own WordPress database. The plugin does not send data to us.
Is there a mobile app? #
Not yet. The community works well in the phone browser.
Do I need Pro? #
No. The free plugin is a complete community. Get Pro when you want advanced course rules, selling courses, assignments, challenge exams or gamification. See What is TrueCommunity? for the full comparison.
What happens to Pro features if my license expires? #
Everything keeps working. You just stop getting updates and support until you renew.
